Former Coventry City players Ronnie Farmer has expressed the concern of many members of the Coventry City Diamond Club that they may never see City play again.

Farmer was speaking to Simon Gilbert of the Coventry Telegraph yesterday at the Diamond Club's AGM/Lunch and said: “The Diamond Club is brilliant, we meet four times a year, and it is really the only part of the club still running.

“I was sad when we left Highfield Road and now I wish we had never left. The situation at the club is a farce.

“At my age I have realised I may never get to see them play again, it makes me very sad.

“I used to go to games but I won’t go to Northampton because I class that team as Northampton reserves.

“It is not a Coventry team if they are not playing in Coventry.”
