City boss hopes for positive impact

"There have been a lot of people asking the question as to why I haven't signed before now but there were one or two technicalities that needed altering. "They have been done now so I am happy. I had further chats with the chairman and Graham Hover this week and I am happy to sign.
"I can't speak for the players whom we want to keep but it always helps when they have a football club with a manager who is fully committed to the cause.
"We are all working for the same goals and we want to push the club forward now and see where we go. But whatever happens I will be here for the foreseeable future.

"I think everyone knows that the finances are tight and transfers both in and out of the club have got to be sensible, but the fact remains that I want to be competitive in what will be a difficult league next season.
"I understand that there is not a great deal of money but I still have to put a team together that can be competitive and I hope that message has now got through to the people at the top."
