George Curtis and John Sillett have been given Lifetime Achievement Awards by Coventry City.

Under previous regimes, the pair who played such a major part in the club's history both as players and joint managers were shunned by certain Board members. However, the club are keen to make up for previous wrongs and have made Sillett and Curtis the second and third recipients of the award.

"It is vitally important that we recognise the people who have bought so much happiness to this great club' said Managing Director Paul Fletcher to the club website. "There are a number of key people who have played an important part in CCFC's history who for one reason or another may not have felt so close to the Club recently than in the past. We are making it our duty to get them involved again and feel part of what we are trying to achieve here.

"We are now operating as a Football Club should be, and keeping everyone connected to the Club previously involved is vital to our future success. "After knowing John and George for a some time now, they are truly fantastic guys and deserve all the credit for that great day in 1987. They are welcome here any time and we hope to see them here far more in future seasons."
