Doyler Unforgiving

Coventry City mdifielder Michael Doyle was unforgiving after having his teeth knocked out in a bust-up with Robert Page.

Said the Irishman to the CT: "I would have taken a fractured jaw or cheekbone, two black eyes or a broken nose because they can all settle down. But I am going to have three false teeth for the rest of my life, so it is difficult to just forgive someone.

"If people think I am going to be looking for retribution and try to snap someone in training, it is not going to happen. I just want to move on - but it is very hard to forgive someone for doing it."

"I am disappointed with what's happened and I feel that if the club are going to have an inquiry into it then I have got nothing to worry about. "If anything, I feel a little bit let down, to be honest, because people still think that I did something and that both of us had a fight. "But it was nothing like that, so I hope the club do carry out an inquiry because I want people to know that it wasn't."

"It's hard for me to talk about it but I just want to put my side of the story. "If arguing with someone has caused trouble then I am guilty, put it that way, but I am gutted about what's happened."

Doyle continued: "It is hard trying to come in every day and will be hard to keep coming in and getting on with things. "But that's what I have to do and I have that frame of mind and the right people around me to be able to do that. I just want to keep doing the best I can to get us right up the table to try to do something. "We have to be professional on the pitch and I will just do my job and that way we will get on with things. It is not a problem - I just want to keep playing for Coventry City because I love it here.

"The supporters have been great to me - I have had so many letters of support and I really appreciate that. "Sometimes I felt like I was on my own because I didn't come out for a few days and just stayed away on my own.

"So when I came in and saw all the letters from fans it meant a lot and showed how much I am liked. It is always nice when things aren't going for you that you know there are people there supporting you, which is great."
