Derek Henderson RIP

Former Coventry Telegraph football reporter Derek Henderson sadly passed away on Sunday aged 81.

Mr Henderson, who wrote articles under the pen name of "Nemo" joined the CT in 1958 and covered Coventry City matches in a style of his very own starting with a Division 3 game against Exeter.

Mr Henderson was also credited with being one of the first membersof the press to coin the phrase "Sky Blues" for City's new kit in 1962 when Jimmy Hill changed the kit to Sky Blue.

He worked for the CT for fifteen years and wrote a number of books before moving back to his native Devon where he continued to write until he officially retired aged 76.
