Defeat Drops City Down To 20th

Coventry City are down to 20th in the Championship table after their 2-1 defeat at Scunthorpe United.

City are now only three points clear of third from bottom Sheffield Wednesday. The Owls, who have a game in hand on the Sky Blues, drew 0-0 at Barnsley.

Preston who are fourth bottom lost 1-0 at home to Crystal Palace whilst Leicester leap-frogged City with a 1-0 win at Cardiff. Bottom are now Colchester United who lost 1-0 at home to Wolves.

With Stoke City not playing until tomorrow, Bristol City top the table. Former Sky Blue Dele Adebola netted in a 2-1 win over Hull City at Ashton Gate.

Watford are third with West Brom fourth, Charlton fifth and Ipswich sixth.

Former Sky Blue Stephen McPhee scored twice for Blackpool in a 2-1 win at Norwich whilst Stern John was on the mark for Southampton in a 1-1 draw with Ipswich.

Top of League One are Swansea who won 1-0 at Huddersfield. The Terriers had Robert Page sent off. Second are Doncaster, 1-0 winners at Tranmere.

Locally, Nuneaton beat Alfreton 1-0. Rugby Town came back to get a 1-1 draw at Chippenham.

In the BGB Midland Division, Bedworth beat Cinderford 3-0. Former Sphinx striker Adam Kinder scored twice with a goal for Twigger. Leamington kept up their push for a second succesive promotion with 2-1 win over Dunstable. Former Sky Blue Ben Mackey got the winner three miutes from time.

Midland Alliance leaders Atherstone Town lost 2-1 at home to Loughborough.

In the Midland Combination Premier Division, Coventry Copsewood won 3-2 at Barnt Green, Massey Ferguson won 2-0 at Bolehall, Nuneaton Griff drew 2-2 at home to Heather whilst second place Southam lost 4-0 at home to Walsall Wood.
