Coventry City defender Cyrus Christie has said that he appreciates winning the Covsupport News Service Young Player of The Year Award.

Christie collected the Christy Heffernan Memorial Trophy for the second year in succession, after winning the vote today in the 1883 Restaurant at the Ricoh Arena after putting in a good performance for the Sky Blues against Leyton Orient.

He joins Issac Osbourne as the only other City player to have won the award, first presented in 1999, twice.

Christie tweeted: "Thanks to those who awarded me with CNS young player of the year for second year running appreciate it... #Pusb"
