Coventry City have refuted recent press speculation that they are preparing to make an offer for Crewe Alexandra striker Clayton Donaldson.
The 27 year old Donaldson is out of contract at Crewe and so can leave the club if he wishes on a free transfer, but Crewe have offered him a new contract which he is mulling over.
Coventry City have now moved to deny the gossip and have said they are not interested in signing the striker.
The club has also ruled out a move for Preston's midfielder Darren Carter who has also been linked in some of the media with a move to Coventry City.
