Cov Gets A White Christmas

The city of Coventry ended up with a white Christmas after a snow shower at around 9pm last night.

A light dusting of snow covered parts of the city, making roads for a time very icy.

However by this morning, the snow had gone with no effects on City's game against Sheffield United.

The Smith and Steels Cup Final, watched by a number of City supporters based in Northern Ireland, between Glentoran Seconds and Bangor was abandoned after an hour with the score at 0-0 due to snow.  Traditionally, this is the only game in Britain played  in Britain on Christmas Morning and always attracts a big crowd. The match will now be replayed on Wednesday.
