Coleman Hoping For McKenzie Return

Coventry City manager Chris Coleman is hoping that Leon McKenzie could be in the squad for Saturday's home game and matches over the Christmas period.

McKenzie has been out injured with a thigh injury and the City boss is hoping that he will come through a first team v reserves training ground practice match tomorrow and be available for the game against Ipswich on Saturday as well as the forthcoming trip to Swansea and home game with Sheffield Wednesday.

"We have got an in-house match for Leon this week and we will have to see how he comes out of that because we need bodies back, it is as simple as that," said Coleman to the CT.

"The window is here as well and we will see what we can do because we are down to the bare bones."

Stephen Wright is likely to continue to be out as he is not recovering from a knee ligament injury.

"Wrighty is still having a bad reaction every time he trains, which is disappointing because he has only played three games for us, " said Coleman.

"We brought him in to sort out our problems at right-back and although Isaac Osbourne was doing a good job for us, he's now out injured for two to three months, and on top of that we have lost our captain, Scott Dann, who is out for six to eight weeks.

"But the lads can't give us any more. "They are at their limit and I applaud them for that but we need to get one or two bodies back asap."
