Coleman Fumes Over Defeat to United

Coventry City manager Chris Coleman, like the City supporters at the Ricoh Arena tonight was fuming with the first goal which set Sheffield United on their way to a 2-1 win.

"I can't tell you how angry I am at the first goal," said Coleman to the Sporting Life.

"One, we defended it poorly. But two, the linesman has had an absolute horror show with the decision.

"I have seen it again and again and he isn't even in line with the ball and there are players in front of him so his view is obstructed.

"Unless he is 100% sure - 100% sure - that the ball is over the line he can't give that.

"And there is no way he is 100% sure and I'll tell you why - it is because the ball is not over the line."

"Westwood's feet are maybe just over the line but his hands are in front of the line.

"You only have to look at the reaction from the Sheffield United players - they are not expecting to get it. And look at the reaction from Westwood.

"But it doesn't disguise the fact that we didn't play well. We were slow in our decision making and looked a bit leggy and lacked impetus, especially offensively."
