A plastic trumpet on sale in Coventry City's club shop could be banned from this year's World Cup Final.

The vuvuzela trumpet went on sale before the Sky Blues home defeat by Reading and annoyed some supporters with its dreary tone.

According to the Guardian, there have been calls by the president of Japanese Football Association Motoaki Inukai to ban the vuvuzela trumpet from the 2010 World Cup in South Africa next year.

He said to Sankei Sports: "We have requested that the South African FA cut that noise out.  "You can't hear yourself speak. I will be bringing it up [with the Fifa president Sepp Blatter]."

FIFA have previously rejected calls for a ban on the vuvuzela following complaints during the Confederations Cup.
