Clarke On Not Celebrating His Goal

Coventry City forward Leon Clarke has been talking about why he did not celebrate his goal on Saturday against former club Scunthorpe United.

"As I said before the game everyone treated me really well and I left on good terms so when I scored it was the right thing to do not to celebrate.," Clarke said to the Coventry Telegraph's Andy Turner.

"It wouldn’t be nice for them to go down but when you cross that white line you have to do well for whatever team you are playing for.

"If me scoring hampers Scunthorpe it’s nothing to do with me. We’re all men out there and have a job to do and we have to win.

"I got double figures while I was here and after that I said anything else is a bonus. I am confident that when the ball is put in the right places I will get my share of goals.

"It’s nice to have scored the amount I have and hopefully there will be more to come."
