Coventry City Development Officer Steve Waggott has said that despite the transfer embago being placed on the club, the search for a new first team manager goes on.

At the moment, it has been all hands to the pump, with Lee Carsley and Steve Ogrizovic, along with U18's coach Ian Foster taking charge of the first team and others filling in at U21 and U18's level.

Speaking to the club website, Mr Waggott insisted that the search for a new manager was still on and he said: “We knew when we started the process of looking for our new manager that this deadline on our accounts was imminent but our process still continues.

“We have kept all of the shortlisted candidates informed and have kept Lee Carsley fully briefed too because that is the right and proper thing to do.

“Everyone knows that there are key off-the-field matters here at Coventry City but we have been working as hard as we possibly can behind the scenes to mitigate the effect they can have on the pitch.

“The important thing is that whoever is manager of the club between now and the end of the season, they have the best possible squad available to make it a successful one.”
