City U23's Win Against Sphinx

Coventry City U23's won their final pre-season game tonight with a 4-0 victory over Midland Football League Premier Division side Coventry Sphinx.

In a game moved by the Sky Blues to the Alan Higgs Centre from Sphinx Drive, City fielded a strong side with Jordan Willis, Tony Andreu, Tom Bayliss, Dujon Sterling, Tom Davies, Jonson Clarke-Harris, Abu Ogogo all getting valuable minutes.

It was Jonson Clarke Harris who opened the scoring in the 22nd minute with a stunning drive from 25 yards and five minutes before the break, Clarke-Harris turned provider to set up Dujon Sterling who scored from close range.

City vastly changed the team at the break giving the watching Mark Robins and his backroom staff, the chance to look at a couple of trialists including Dexter Walters from Tamworth.

Sphinx wearing their new home kit, battled well but could do nothing to stop a trialist from scoring in the 74th minute.

Walters, looked useful as did Morgan Williams, Jak Hickman and Billy Stedman for City and it was Walters who scored with a neat finish nine minutes from time.
