Coventry City are still interested in Northern Ireland international David Healy according to various media reports.

The Sky Blues tried to sign Healy from Sunderland before the transfer window closed and then tried to take him on a season long loan but a deal was not able to be agreed.

Healy, who is his country's top scorer, is in the Northern Ireland squad along with City midfielderSammy Clingan which is making its way to Poland for a World Cup qualifier and he told the Belfast Telegraph: "In relation to my situation at Sunderland I still have two years left on my contract and have continually said that I am happy to fight for my place.

"What has been forgotten about in the rush to get deals done is that the loan window opens shortly, so I have options.".
