A Coventry City player is being reported as having "invested" £750,000 in a get richer quick scheme fronted by former City player Michael McIndoe.

Players are reported to have invested £1.3m in the scheme which promised a guaranteed return of 20% per month. Robbie Keane is one player thought to have lost money in the scheme which crashed last year.

The player has made inquiries as to the whereabout of McIndoe, of whom there is no suggestion of any wrong-doing, and the player's  agent is looking into the matter to see if he can get the money back for his client.

A Coventry City spokesman said: ‘We will be talking to the players’ representatives.’
