City Old Boys Play For Northern Ireland

Two former Coventry City players played for Northern Ireland in their international friendly against Uruguay.

At the Estadio Centenario in Montevideo, former City captain Sammy Clingan and former City loanee Oliver Norwood of Huddersfield Town started for Northern Ireland managed by former Coventry City midfielder Michael O'Neill. 

it was a battling performance from Northern Ireland who went in at half time of this game which was beng played for the Copa Amtel drawing 0-0.

Sammy Clingan was booked early in the second half but the hard work was undone when substitute Cristian Stuani, who had replaced Diego Forlan at half-time, scored from close range in the 61st minute.

Clingan was replaced in the 74th minute and Norwood was substituted eleven minutes later as Northern Ireland continued to battle but went down to a 1-0 defeat.
