Former Coventry City loanee Gary Caldwell was on the bench for Wigan Athletic in their FA Cup Final victory against Manchester City.

Watched by the smallest crowd for an FA Cup Final since Wembley re-opened of 86,254, Wigan were probably better in a first half that failed to produce a goal.

The game was refereed by former Walsgrave resident Andre Marriner, who brandish a yellow and then a red card to dismiss Pablo Zabaleta for a second bookable offence following a foul on McManaman in the 84th minute.

The deadlock was finally broken in the 90th minute when a corner was met by the head of Ben Watson who nodded past Joe Hart to give Wigan the cup which Caldwell helped to lift.
