Trialist goalkeeper in action today
During this mornings friendly football match between Gaflenz and Coventry City in Austria, the Sky Blues played striker Orlando Smeekes and goal keeper Lawrence Thomas.
Smeekes has a couple of good chances to score and put in some useful crosses before he was substituted.
An unknown goal keeper, Lawrence Thomas replaced Keiren Westwood at half time and made a couple of good saves, but was rooted to the spot from an audacious free taken from just inside the Coventry half. Thomas could only watch as the ball crashed off his crossbar to bounce around his area before he could pick up the ball and clear it up field.
Lawrence Thomas is an Australian who plays for AIS (Australian Institute of Sport), was born in Sydney and is 18 years old and just over 6' tall. He has represented Australia in the under 17's.
