Coventry City Ladies intend to be one of the best sides outside of the Women's Super League, the club have said

Tom Stack said in an email to players and supporters of the club;  "Of course we are disappointed not to have been granted a place in the WSL but we have to use that as our motivation to improve all aspects and all sections of our club.

"There has been some good work done off the pitch but we need to do better.

" We said that if we had gone onto the WSL we had to put a lot more things into place to move this club forward, we now have to stop the talking and make these initiatives happen. This is the test for the people whose role is off the pitch,  and we will do everything we can to make them happen.

"We have a new and I feel better Junior set up and new and enthusiastic staff ready to develop the players for the future and it is vital for CCLFC as we move forward in our long term aims.

"Our intention is to be one of the best teams outside of the WSL but for sure  we won’t be alone in that aim there will be strong ,very strong competition[ Leeds, Charlton, Sheffield] and others]. It is our aim to have the best that we can in terms of back up staff, coaches, medical and administrators  and we will aim to assist and support them to support the players in any and every way that we can.

"I feel that we have done that this season but we want to improve even more.

"We want to work with players to develop them and to improve them and their performances. We feel that with our staff and their commitment we have done some good work but you have our word that we will continue to explore ways to improve every aspect  of what we do and directly or indirectly help the players and CCLFC.

What we want to say to our players is thank you for all that you have done so far. The reserves did themselves proud. The seniors need to put everything they have into these last four games and I know that they will. They are on a great run and if we can continue that run we can look back on this season as a job well done again, so let’s go for it.

Once that final game is completed then we can start to think and talk about next season in more detail."
