City Ladies To Face Watford

Coventry City are back in action on Sunday when they host third-placed Watford, who have won five out of their last six league games dating back to the end of last season, but Cudby is adamant that his team will be fully focused on building on the victories against Leicester City and Portsmouth.

‘’The confidence in the group is building again, so we'll focus on our strengths, and ensuring we do all we can to play to those from the first whistle. We've got a lot of respect for Watford and how they turned things around last season, so we certainly will be ready. Hopefully it'll be a very good game.’’

Paul Cudby praised Cheryl Edwards who scored in the 3-0 win over Leicester City week and said: ‘’Cheryl did very well, and everyone at the club know what she is capable of’’ Cudby said. ‘’I'm really pleased for her as she's got great potential, so the goal would have done her the world of good. When she runs at a full back like that, she's a real threat. In regards to first-team selection, she's never been far from my thoughts prior to this game to be honest. ‘’

However, he was quick to point out that Edwards – who signed for the club from Birmingham City in the Summer – won’t be rushed into first-team action, when the FA Women's Premier League resumes this weekend.

‘’She's only young, so we certainly don't want to put any unnecessary pressure on her either, hopefully she'll keep learning and take the opportunities she gets with both hands.’’

Kick off at Bedworth United FC's The Oval ground is at 2pm.
