Coventry City Ladies went out of the League Cup following a 2-0 Semi-Final defeat to Leeds United.

This WPL League Cup Semi-Final which was moved at short notice to Rugby Town's Butlin Road, saw the visitors take the lead in the fourth minute when Leah Galton, who was being watched by an England scout, attacked down the left and had a shot which was blocked and fell for Tanya Rich to fire home from six yards.

City had their third corner of the match by the sixth minute and had efforts through Formaston and Dermody.

Against a team the calibre of Leeds, the Sky Blues, who to a player put in a good performance, continued to have chances with Sweetman-Kirk firing over on the 41st minute and two minutes Emily Simkins had a cracking shot pushed over for a corner which had to be headed off the line, following Sweetman-Kirk's effort from close range.

It was more of the same in the second half with City able to match a Leeds side but with the rain coming down, Leeds booked their place in the final on May 6th when substitute Emma Johnson scored with her first touch in the 73rd minute with a volley following a corner.

Play had to be suspended following a hailstorm but although City battled away they were out of the cup at a very creditable semi-final stage.
