City Didn't Appeal To Me As Much As Brentford - Barron

Scott Barron has revealed why he chose Brentford over Coventry City.

The defender knew he was leaving Millwall and spoke to the Sky Blues but decided to sign for fellow League One club Brentford as he believes that they are a club on the up.

Speaking to the Hounslow Chronicle, Barron said: “I knew I was going to be leaving Millwall two weeks ago after talking to the manager. He told me I was going to be a squad player again, like I was last year, and wouldn't stand in my way if someone came in for me.

“I spoke to Coventry, but they didn't appeal as much to me as Brentford did. I spoke to a few other clubs as well but I felt this was the best move for me.

“There were a lot of factors. I live in London, which means I don't have to relocate, plus I'm joining a club on the up.

“Brentford are going in the right direction. They have ambition with plans for a new stadium, and they've invested a lot of money in the training ground and the medical department.

“I could've stayed at Millwall but I want to play every week. I'm hoping to get that opportunity at Brentford.

“I want to nail down the left-back spot and repay the gaffer's faith in me for bringing me to the club.”
