City Change Their Tune

Coventry City have been forced to re-think about the new song "Come On,Come On". The song which featured City players plus supporters was aired before the 6-1 victory over Derby County but has not been well received by certain supporters.

The song which was never intended to replace the Sky Blue Song was written by City supporters Steve & Heather Taylor and the idea was promoted by City director Joe Elliott. It was only when City's Managing Director Paul Fletcher issued a statement about fans called to get behind new club song that the protests took off.

Marketing Director Ken Sharp whose idea for a song taken from an Australian Rugby League song which is so bad that it would have sparked stampedes to leave the Arena stands, issued a statement on the club website saying: "The Sky Blue Song, as launched by Jimmy Hill back in the 60's will always be the Club's Anthem and any other City songs played will simply be used in the long term as a means of revolutionising matchdays for you the fans.

"We are currently investigating if the original Sky Blue Song can be re-mastered using archived recordings of the Ted Heath Orchestra. If it is technically possible we hope that Jimmy Hill can play a part in the production."
