City Chairman on Adams Signing

Coventry City Chairman Mike McGinnity said he was absolutely delighted that
Micky has decided to sign. He told the CET: "I came back from my holiday especially to discuss the outstanding issues with him and we have sorted those small problems out which I hope will now put the supporters' minds at rest.

"We have been able to adjust a few things and work round our commitments with the support of the bank and now we hope to satisfy Micky's needs.
"I met with the bank three weeks ago and they were very pleased with what we have done so far in managing our debts and we have got their approval for our budget for next season which gives us a bit more leeway in the market place for players' wages. So we are now looking forward to an exciting summer."

"Micky signing sends a positive message to those players. "When a manager is asking players to sign and he's not signed a deal himself it doesn't really send out the right signals. But Micky is saying to them now that he has put his name to paper and now he wants them to follow.

"I am annoyed that it has taken so long but it is done now and I hope the players will want to stay as well. "We have been talking to four or five of the players and their agents today and I hope to bring some good news very shortly.

"As for new players, I do not think we are that short of being a decent side and if we can get those players Micky has targeted signed up, we will be well on the way.

"We need to add a few players in key areas and if we do that we should have a side capable of competing next season. We showed what we are capable of against Derby a few weeks ago so I don't believe we are that far off."
