City Back Down To 20th

Coventry City have dropped down to 20th place following their 2-1 defeat to Sheffield United in front of the biggest crowd in the Championship of the night.

Sheffield Wednesday moved out of the bottom three with a 2-1 win at bottom side Colchester United. Wednesday's place in the bottom three has now been taken over by Leicester City who lost 1-0 at Southampton with the goal coming from former Sky Blue Stern John.

Scunthorpe beat Plymouth 1-0 at Glanford Park but remain second bottom.
Norwich are now starting to look over their shoulders after a 1-0 defeat by second placed Stoke City.

Preston joined Sheffield United in pulling away from the relegation zone with a home 2-1 win over Wolves, as did FA Cup Semi-Finalists Barnsley with a 4-1 win against Ipswich.

Burnley beat Charlton 1-0, QPR beat Blackpool 3-2 with Stephen McPhee netting for the Tangerines and leaders Bristol City drew 0-0 with Watford.

In League One, Bas Savage scored the only goal of the game to give Millwall a 1-0 win at Yeovil Town. Swansea still top the division from Doncaster with an eight point lead. The Swans were held to a 1-1 draw by Tranmere Rovers.

Gary McAllister's Leeds United were beaten 2-1 at home by Cheltenham Town.

Ryan Lynch was involved with Altrincham tonight in their 3-2 home defeat by Crawley Town. Lynchy has joined on loan from Crewe Alexandra.

Locally, Nuneaton Borough drew 0-0 at AFC Telford in front of a crowd of 1788.
