City Are Relegated

Coventry City are relegated after a 2-0 defeat to Doncaster Rovers this afternoon.

The Sky Blues went down along with Portsmouth who lost 2-1 at home to Derby County after Barnsley for whom former Sky Blue Jon Stead scored a second half penalty beat Barnsley 2-0.

City stay in 21st position with only one game left to play.

At the top, leaders Reading drew 2-2 at home to Crystal Palace whilst second placed Southampton must beat City next Saturday if they are to guarantee automatic promotion after losing 2-1 at Middlesbrough.

Fourth placed Blackpool beat Burnley 4-0, whilst fifth placed Birmingham City drew 1-1 at Brighton.

Cardiff stay sixth after a 1-1 draw with Leeds United.

Elsewhere, Millwall won 3-0 at Ipswich, Hull beat Forest 2-1 and Peterborough drew 2-2 with Watford.
