Former Coventry City defender Calum Davenport remains in a stable condition.

Davenport was stabbed in both legs at his mother's home. His alleged attacker Worrell Whitehurst is due at court in Luton on November 16th.

Calum's wife Zoe told Bedford today: "He is getting better but we don't want to be too optimistic as a lot is still going on."

She also appealed for everyone to give blood saying: "After recent events Calum needed a blood transfusion and without the people that have recently donated blood he may not even be here today! So lets do something positive together and donate the most important thing to us all... BLOOD!!"
