Business As Usual For Dowie

Whilst Paul Fletcher's resignation at Friday's Board meeting may have dominated the headlines,Its business as usual for Iain Dowie and everyone else involved in the club.

"As far as I am concerned we have got a great bunch of lads and I have a commitment to all the staff I brought here, so it doesn't affect my position," said Dowie to the CT.

"It is a great club and I enjoy working here but it needs a takeover to push forward. "But, if it doesn't happen, we have got players who have given their all again with a display that was absolutely monumental.

"You have got to play with the hand you are dealt and I am delighted with the deck because if you are getting as much out of them as you can, that's all you can do. "At the moment the lads are giving me full houses every time.

"They try their hardest and are playing some very good stuff.

"Everyone knows that the takeover has been a longer-running saga than Crossroads and that's a shame because everything is set up to move forward.

"But I am sure it will come and when it does, great. "In the meantime, if we go the rest of the season with the same group of players, they won't let me down."

"I have heard the growing suggestion about administration but I cannot comment on it because I don't know the full facts. "If they do, it will be a real travesty.

"We would lose ten points and then the vultures would come in because we have got some good young players in Ben Turner, Isaac Osbourne, Jay Tabb, Michael Doyle and Michael Mifsud who could go come the transfer window.

"Everything would be out of my hands. I have been there at Oldham so I know. "But if it happens we will have to cope with it.

"We desperately hope not and I think I am getting the feelings from the powers that be that it is not going to happen."
