Port Vale manager Michael Brown said you could see the quality that Coventry City have as his side went down to a 1-0 defeat at the Ricoh Arena.
Brown told the Press Association: "Coventry is one of the hardest places to come in this league.
"You see the quality they have with Jodi Jones, it was a great goal. We were really put on the back foot after half-time but I was pleased with the fight we showed.
"We continued to hang in the game and you always have a chance when you are one down.
"We gave it a good go in the closing stages but just couldn't get that equaliser.
"We didn't have the luck and things could have been very different if Antony Kay's header had gone in instead of hitting the bar.
"When you are down at the bottom the luck tends not to go with you. It's not good seeing ourselves at the bottom of the table.
"We have to keep working hard now on the training pitch and in matches to turn things around and climb the table."
