Boo The Fat One

I really really hope that fans won't continue to sing 'Andy Thorn's Sky Blue Army' today.

I never agreed with his appointment - what was an overweight unfit scout going to bring to the table as manager? Especially, as he didn't even have ex-premiership mates who he could have brought in to play for us for a few months to keep us mid-table (like Dennis Wise did).

Like all Coventry City fans I lived in hope and kept hoping I'd be proved wrong. By Xmas it was obvious he didn't have what it takes. But I hoped I'd be proved wrong and we'd bag 9 points over the festive period - only in my dreams.

For the first half of the season our players were always second to any ball, and visibly puffing and panting before the end of the first half (The might Richard Keogh being an exception). Even Shef looked unfit and disinterested - if he doesn't care, then who does?

50% of a managers job in any walk of life is to motivate the people who work for them. Thorn hasn't even motivated them to win the games that really matter.

And I'm sick of fellow fans saying' well who else could do better'....thousands of people could have done better than Thorn. Most of his post-match interviews have been at best amateurish and at worst truly pathetic and unprofessional.

Sisu have destroyed our club by keeping him as manager. If we get relegated I think we'll go into freefall.

IF - and I really hope and pray - we win both games and Bristol lose theirs and we stay up please, please, please do not then hail Thorn as a hero. His incompetent management got us into this mess. Every one of our players is capable of so much more than they give most Saturdays (except mighty Keogh!) and Thorn and his team must take responsibility for that. I can only hope that in these 2 matches the players can play for us the fans, who have given them our undying support for more years than I care to admit.

Rant over. As usual I will drive up from Marlow to today's game, but don't expect to hear me singing 'Andy Thorn's Sky Blue Army'.
