Coventry City supporters will be able to sample the delights of Blackpool after the football team of the town famed for it's tower amongst others made their way into the Championship after a League One play-off win against Yeovil Town at Wembley.

Robbie Williams put the Seasiders ahead in the first half with Keegan Parker adding a second in the 52nd minute to give Blackpool a 2-0 win.

Former Sky Blues Andy Morrell and Claus Jorgensen played for Blackpool who also included Cov Kid Ian Evatt with Anthony Barry playing in mdifield for the Somerset based club.

City last played the Tangerines in a league fixture in 1970/71. City lost 1-0 at Blackpool in December 1970 but won the home game at Highfield Road 2-0 on February 13th.

City also lost in a League Cup tie 1-0 at Bloomfield Road in 1997 but won the second leg 3-1 at Highfield Road.

The last time, Blackpool played in the second tier of English football was 1978.
