Birmingham To Listen To McSheffrey Offers

Birmingham City boss Alex McLeish has said that he will listen to offers for former Coventry City striker Gary McSheffrey.

McSheffrey has been on the bench for Birmingham in their first two Premier League games but manager Alex McLeish is prepared to let him and Marcus Bent leave so other players can be brought in.

Speaking to The Sun, McLeish said: "I have spoken to Gary and Marcus and said that, by having to bring players in, we have to make sacrifices.

"We will listen to offers for these lads. Hopefully the agents are working around the clock to help their clients."

Arran Lee Barrett has joined Ipswich Town as a back up keeper. The former City Reserve team keeper, who was signed by Micky Adams was released by Hartlepool United at the end of last season.

Lee Barrett replaces Shane Supple who said he had fallen out of love with the game and has returned to Ireland.

Former Coventry City manager Peter Reid is being linked with the Assistant Manager's job at Stoke City. Media outlets in Stoke have been reporting that Reid, who was brought to City by Mike McGinnity, attended a Stoke City training session today.

Reid is currently the manager of the Thailand national side but is believed to be looking for a return to England.
