"He gives the players confidence and the players have responded to his methods and are doing it properly."

Sillett, speaking at a lunch which was attended by a number of his former team-mates including Bill Tedds, Ronnie Farmier, Dietmar Bruck, Ken Satchwell, Ken Brown, Brian Nicholas and Lol Harvey, also praised City's defence saying that Richard Wood has been much better of late, Edjenguele was excellent and Cyrus Christie was bombing on,

He praised those who fill in for players and said that it was all about improvement on the pitch and there was plenty of that going on.He could see that the players were trying to get it right and backed them to succeed.

The lunch, itself was an excellent three course affair, with the Christmas festivities provided by local female barbershop group - The Belles Of Three Spires, who have had a busy year, playing such venues as The Olympic Park, and who played two much appreciated sets.
