Coventry City midfielder Aron Einar Gunnarsson played the whole match for Iceland U21's in their 6-2 victory in Northern Ireland last night.

With Iceland having no chance of qualifying for the 2010 World Cup, the Icelandic FA used Gunnarsson and a couple of the National team squad players who qualified to get some points on the board in the qualifying of the European U21 Championship.

At Coleraine, last night, Iceland were 4-0 up at half time thanks to goals from Bjatni Vidarsson (penalty), Johann Gudmundsson, Alfred Finnbogason and Rurik Gislasson.

The fifth goal came in the 57th minute through Gudmundsson before the sixth was scored by Gislasson either side of a brace from Cardiff City's Josh Magennis.
