Aron On Sitting With The City Fans

Coventry City midfielder Aron Gunnarsson has been talking about his experience last week of being in the away end with the City supporters at Bristol City.

The Ice Man joined his mum and mate, who once had a trialat Crystal Palace under Iain Dowie, at the back of the away end and got a fans eye view of how we see the game.

Speaking to the CT's Alan Poole, the Iceman said: "My mum and mate were there so I decided to sit with them instead of staying with the other players.

"It was quite funny to be up there and I think the fans were really happy about it because they don't see that very often and it was good to get the chance to see how it is from their point of view.

"My mum travelled to Preston as well with a view of the fans and she told me about it afterwards.

"She said how amazing it was, their feelings for the team and how much money they spend to go to every away game. She was shocked by it - she never saw that when she was following me in Iceland or Holland and that got me thinking about how much the fans put into the club.

"It makes me appreciate what they do for us, spending loads of money to support us even when we are not putting in performances.

"When we're playing we are concentrating on our game and we have to do that. But when you see things from the fans' point of view you feel you have to do something extra just to show that you want to repay them."
