All Four Coventry Sides Win

Derby County are back at the top of the Championship table after a 3-1 home win over Cardiff City. Second are Sunderland who beat Hull City 2-0 with former Sky Blue Stern John on the scoresheet. Third are Birmingham who face West Brom tomorrow,knowing a win will take them back to the top.

At the bottom,Leeds earned a 1-1 draw at Southend and are now on 36 points along with Luton Town who were beaten at home by Ipswich Town. QPR's win at Leicester lifted them out of the bottom three and dropped Southend into the danger zone.

Elsewhere, a Darren Huckerby goal gave Norwich a win over Stoke, Plymouth beat Palace, Preston beat Burnley whilst Sheffield Wednesday drew 2-2 with Wolves. Coventry City remain in 14th place.

In League One, Bas Savage scored for Brighton in a 1-1 draw with Scunthorpe whilst Andy Morrell scored the only goal of the game for Blackpool at Yeovil.

Locally, Nuneaton Borough beat Droylsden 1-0 whilst in the Southern League Rugby Town lost at Cheshunt but Bedworth won 2-1 at Malvern Town.

In the Midland Alliance,Leamington stuffed Coalville 4-0. The Brakes are now sixteen points clear of Romulus. Third are Stratford Town who beat Friar Lane & Epworth 1-0. Racing Club Warwick who are second bottom in the table but have six games in hand drew 1-1 at Oadby but Atherstone lost 3-2 at Westfields.

Coventry Sphinx continue to top the Midland Combination Premier Division table but their 3-1 win over Pershore Town came at a hefty price. Paul Charnley's side netted through Craig Martin,Adam Knibbs and Robbie Stevenson but right back Shaun Thomas who has been in fine form this season suffered a badly broken leg.

A 1-0 win for Coventry Copsewood against Continental Star lifted them out of the bottom three and Massey Ferguson ensured a rare winning weekend for all four main Coventry teams with a 3-0 win over Heath Hayes. Nuneaton Griff lost 2-1 at Brocton whilst Alveston who are bottom of the table were stuffed 4-0 at Castle Vale. Southam suffered the heaviest defeat in the division losing 6-1 at home to Second placed Highgate United.

In Division One, Leamington Hibernian beat University of Birmingham 1-0 whilst Coventry Sphinx Reserves drew first advantage with a 1-0 at Worcester City A in the Jack Mould Semi-Final first leg. Warwick Town lost 3-1 at Coton Green.
