Adams On Contract Signing

Micky Adams has been talking about finally a signing a two deal with Coventry City.

The former player told the club website: "A lot has been made over the fact that I hadn't signed, but it was agreed in principle and there were just a few things that me and my solicitor weren't in agreement with, but that's all been ironed out and I look forward to the next two years. "

It was never a problem, it wasn't a case of me hanging out for better terms, the terms were agreed. The wording of a couple of things was a bit strange which I needed to clarify with my solicitor. He wasn't happy with a few things, but that's been ironed out and in the mean time it's allowed me to speak to the chairman.

"I want the Club to progress and I want us to be a successful football club, but I'm here for the next two years and let's hope we can enjoy the next two seasons.

"It's a difficult time of year for managers and football clubs, particularly when you want to take the Club forward, but we'll have to be patient, the fans will have to be patient, but it's not a virtue which is one of my strengths.

"Players will obviously look for the best deals they can but all the players have stressed that they want to stay at the football club, but you and I know that if they can get a better deal down the road then it will be tough to keep them. We've got to be patient and as long as they're talking to us that's the main thing."
