Sent To Coventry - Watford

Christmas shopping or a trip to Highfield Road will be the decision for many as Watford come to Coventry on what is traditionally the worst day of the season for attendance figures.

With Mr Dhinsa out of the limelight for the time being, little has come from the club in the way of trying to get supporters disenfranchised with the club back on board and it will be interesting to see if attendances are affected by this.

Under fire Peter Reid who has seen three better performances from his team of late but only one point attained, will be without Michael Doyle who is suspended for picking up his fifth booking in the defeat at Stoke last weekend.

Eric Deloumeaux and Isaac Osbourne who both played in defence for the reserves in their 3-0 defeat at Norwich on Monday have been added to the squad.

Defender Adie Williams is also a doubt. The former Reading defender limped off during the trip to Stoke after feeling his hamstring and has since picked up a bout of tonsillitis. The chances of him playing are only rated as “Touch And Go” by Peter Reid.

There may also be a return for Stuart Giddings after recovering from a training ground tackle which injured his ankle with Steve Staunton likely to step down.

Back in the reckoning is Stern John who came on as a late sub at Stoke.

Watford boss Ray Lewington is without Danny Webber who has a dislocated shoulder as does Hameur Bouazza. Defender Sean Dyche is struggling with flu and may have to sit out the game.

The Hornets have lost only one of their last six away matches, but have drawn four of them. Last season, they drew 0-0 at Highfield Road.

There is no fixtures for the Academy players who have all been sent home for Christmas but Coventry City Ladies will be in action on Sunday with the first team taking on Rugby Town in a Birmingham County FA Cup Third Round home tie at Coventry Sphinx (kick off 2pm). Whilst Coventry City Ladies Reserves face a long trek to Middlesbrough
