Bad light and rain affected Warwickshire on the second day of the friendly against Cardiff MCCU.
Resuming on 82-3, Will Porterfield and Jim Troughton took their partnership to 102 runs before Porterfield was caught by Jones off the bowlling of Salter for 76 from 160 balls.
That left Warwicks on 165-4 and Troughton and Tim Ambrose added sixty three in a partnership that ended when Ambrose was caught by Elkin after making 37.
Troughton finally went for 67 after being caught by Siddique as Warwicks ended the day on 261/6.
