Warwicks Toil In The Field

Warwickshire County Cricket Club toiled in the field on the opening day of their County Championship game with Somerset at Edgbaston.

Play did not start until 1.30pm due to early morning rain and when it did Warwicks won the toss and put Somerset into bat.

The visitors has made twenty seven when Jeetan Patal caught Johann Myburgh, who had made fifteen, off the bowling of Keith Barker.

Marcus Trescothwick made fifty three before he was bowled by Rikki Clarke but at the other end, Nick Compton was getting runs.

Compton was supported by James Hildreth, after Patal had Andersen caught by Clarke for twelve, who hit a six to take Somerset past the 150 mark.

The duo had taken their partnership to 132 with Compton 72 not out and Hildreth 69 not out when play ended with Somerset on 237-3.
