Warwicks Build A Good Score

Warwickshire County Cricket Club built up a good score on the opening day of their four day Champion County match at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi.

Warwicks batted first after winning the toss against the Marylebone Cricket Club and lost Ian Westwood for a duck after only four balls when he was caught by Kerrigan off the bowling of Trego.

Varun Chopra and Will Porterfield came to the crease and put on a partnership of 308 before Chopra who had made 163 from 246 balls including twenty fours and three sixes, was caught by Kirby to give Kerrigan his first wicket of the match.

At the end of the 88th over, Warwicks lost their third wicket when Will Porterfield who had made 162 from 240 balls, hitting 22 fours and one six, was caught by Kerrigan off the bowling of Rushworth.

Warwicks closed on 370-3 after 97 overs with Laurie Evans 15 not out and Jim Troughton eight not out.
