Peter Sagan Wins Eneco Tour Stage Three

World and European Champion Peter Sagan has won the third stage of the Eneco Tour.

Rohan Dennis of BMC moved into the lead of the race after his victory in the time trial and was full of smiles as a 182.3km stage from Blankenberge - Ardooie started.

Arashiro, Martin Elmiger, Stijn Steels, Jesper Asselman and British rider Mark McNally of Wanty Group were in the first break and with a hundred kilometres to go, they were 6.25 in front.

With 45kms left, the peloton had the gap down to a more manageable 2.30.

Twenty kilometres later and Martin Elmiger of IAM Cycling who does not have a contract for next season, took the three golden kilometre sprints points.

Those in the break were motivated to stay away and they were still 47 seconds head with 5.4kms left.

With 1.5kms left, the gap was still at 19 seconds.and they went under the flam rouge with the peloton chasing.

Those in the break continued to look at each other and they were caught with Peter Sagan taking the win in 4.10.36, followed by Danny van Poppel, Nacer Bouhanni, Dylan Groenwegen and Mark McNally.
