Nacer Bouhanni Wins Paris=Nice Stage Four

Nacer Bouhanni has won stage four of the Paris-Nice race.

Following the abandonment of stage three due to snow, stage four got underway in Juliénas with a 193.5km stage to Romans-sur-Isère.

The peloton, which 28 non starters including race leader Michael Matthews, allowed Thomas Voeckler (Direct Energie), Matthew Brammeier (Dimension Data), Florian Vachon (Fortuneo Vital Concept) and Evaldas Siskevicius (Delko Marseille Provence to get away after five kilometres

Brammeier took the intermediate sprint points as the quartet extended their lead to 3.20 at the Feedzone at Mornant.

The Irishman was third as Voeckler took the second sprint as the gap dropped to forty eight seconds so the Frenchman attacked on his own.

There was a crash with just over thirty kilometres left. Geraint Thomas of Team Sky went down but got back up although Arnaud Demare was forced to abandon.

Nathan Haas crashed after over-cooking it on a turn whilst up the front as Chavanel. Sep Vanmarcke (LottoNL-Jumbo) and Delio Fernandez (Delko Marseille) caught up to Voeckler and then left him dangling on the back of their group.

They stayed clear until there was left than a kilometre to and the catch was made and Nacer Bouhanni came in to take the sprint ahead of
