LottoNL-Jumbo's Dylan Groenewegen rode to victory on the third stage of the Volta a la Comunitat Valenciana in Spain.
Stage three, with Team Sky's Wout Poels in the lead with a thirteen second lead over Luis Leon Sanchez and Dan Martin who won stage two in the KOM jersey, was a 173.5km stage from Sagunto to Alzira.
Seven riders in Barbin, Bravo, Cubero, Maikin, Mihaylov, the Bulgarian champion, Antonio Molina, who took the first sprint and KOM and Ovechkin made the break and took a lead of 2:55.
After 122kms, the gap had gone out to 3.47 as the riders started on a finishing lap around Alzira.
The break dropped to six going into the final twenty kilometres and were soon in sight of the peloton who swept them up with twelve kilometres left.
Bob Jungels took to the front before a Bardiani rider took over heading towards the flam rouge.
Cofidis were now on the front on the final turn. Tom Boonen came forward with Soupe and Nacer Bouhani but Dylan Groenewegen of LottoNL-Jumbo just took the win in 4.04.12 ahead of Nacer Bouhani, Alexander Porsev, Tom Boonen and Raymond Kreder, followed by Van Genechten, Torres, Ruffoni, Fortin and Bocchiola.
Wout Poels keeps his race lead going into stage four.
