Broken Hand For Evans As Warwicks Bat

Warwickshire County Cricket Club lost Laurie Evans to a broken bone in his hand on the third day of their County Championship game with Middlesex at Edgbaston.

Middlesex declared on their overnight total of 428-5 and Warwicks went into bat, making 45 before Will Porterfield was out caught by Rayner for 20.

Laurie Evans and Jonathan Trott added 113 for the second wicket which saw the England international caught by Malan off the bowling of Muragh, who took a second wicket straight away when Jim Troughton went for a duck.

With Evans, who had made 59, having to go to hospital for scans on a broken bone in his left hand, Ian Bell moved Warwicks on and made 62 before he was trapped lbw by Collymore, who also took the wicket of Tim Ambrose who had made 55.

When the umpires took the players off for bad light, Warwicks were on 267-5.
