Chinese rider Meiyin Wang surprised everyone with a stunning victory in the third stage of the Tour Of Langkwai in Malayasia.

Theo Bos had been the race leader as the 132 riders set out on the 145.4km third stage from Sungai Siput to Cameron Highlands.

Wang was eleven seconds down on the yellow jersey wearer and was in the first group of riders to attack after twelve kilometres.

These five riders in Seo Keong Loh and Junrong Ho from the OCBC team, Harrif Saleh (Terrengganu), Joon Yong Seo (KSPO) and Meiyin Wang (Henxiang) started to take the points on offer at the intermediate sprints.

Loh  took the first at Ipoh after 27.8kms and was second to Saleh at the second sprint at 59.9km.

Saleh also took the third sprint before Wang made his move on the foot of the Hors Category Cameron Highlands climb.

Wang was allowed to get ten minutes clear with forty kilometres left and although he was slowly pulled back, he easily won the race, some two minutes and twenty seven seconds ahead of Julian Arredondo of the Team Nippo - De Rosa team and Nathan Haas of Garmin.

Speaking through a translator, Wang said after the race to www.cyclingnews.com : This is the greatest day of my life. "I just tried to do my best. I wanted to show myself today for Chinese cycling.

"I didn't think I could win today's stage but my feelings were very good. I had to time trial for more than 40k's. In the last 5k's I really wanted to win.

"We are a small team and everybody doesn't know us and that we could win a stage. They also don't know me and that's why I think I could win.  I was very lucky today,"
