Vos Wins Women's Tour Stage Four

Marianne Vos extended her lead in the Women's Tour with a second successive victory on the fourth stage.

Marianne Vos was in the leader's jersey for an 87.8km stage from Cheshunt to Welwyn Garden City.

Britain's Ciara Horne was the first to attack but was caught after the first Queen Of The Mountain's climb at Port Hill with 11.3kms gone.

A group of eight, comprising of  Emma Pooley, Brennauer, Van Vleuten, Elvin, Gillow, Longo, Borghini, Cecchini & Pawlowska took to the front and built up a forty second lead.

Inside the final twenty five kilometres and with a lead of fifteen seconds, Van Vleuten took the first sprint at Baldock in a break which now consisted of Elvin, Van Vleuten, Pawlowska, Pooley, Holcomb and  Blaak.

Then the race had to be neutralised because of the paramedics working at an incident ahead of the escapers but got under way again witn the race leader taking the second sprint at Codicote ahead of Johansson and Lizzie Armistead.

Vos attacked and she was able to win her second successive stage and extend her lead with one stage to go.
