Seb Vanmarcke of Belkin has won the Tour Of Alberta Stage Three.

On Military Appreciation Day in Canada, the 113 riders tackled a 157.9km stage from Wetaskiwin to Edmonton with a finish on a military base.

There were attacks from the start with Robin Carpenter, one of the early breakers and a crash on a fast stage which was ahead of schedule.

Daryl Impey took the first sprint of the day and with 55kms to go, Matty Dal-Cin of Silver Pro & Ben Perry of the Canadian National Team had a lead of twenty seconds on Beyer and Marcotte and 1.40 on the peloton.

The two Canadians were joined by the two Americans but were being chased by a group of 34 riders including the race leader Tom Dumoulin.

The junction was made with 46kms to go and this group was still clear the first time across the final line with a 27 second lead over the peloton.

Leigh Howard of Orica GreenEdge, Seb Vanmarcke of Belkin and Ramanus Navardauskas of Garmin- Sharp broke clear with eight kilometres to go

They had a fifteen second lead going into the final 5.6kms lap around the Edmonton Garriso and that was enough.

Vanmarcke led out the sprint after getting into the corner first and he took the win in 3.12.11 ahead of Navardauskas, Howard, Kruopis and Von Hoff.

Tom Dumoulin keeps his leaders jersey by nine seconds from Reuben Zepuntke and twelve seconds from Navardauskas.
